“PRO” stands for Performing Rights Organization, an entity like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC that collects and distributes royalties for public performance of music (radio, TV, live venues, etc.) to songwriters and publishers; it can also mean being a professional , earning most income from music, versus an amateur hobbyist. A professional musician demonstrates discipline, consistent effort, and serious commitment, while a PRO (Organization) manages rights for creators.
