SESAC (Society of European Stage Authors and Composers) is a major U.S. Performing Rights Organization (PRO) that represents songwriters, composers, and publishers, collecting and distributing royalties when their music is publicly performed in places like restaurants, bars, radio, TV, and streaming services. It acts as an intermediary, licensing businesses to use its vast catalog (over 1 million songs) and ensuring creators get paid, much like ASCAP and BMI, but often focusing on film/TV composers and unique indie artists.
