SoundExchange is a non-profit digital performance royalties organization that collects and distributes royalties for sound recordings when they’re played on non-interactive digital services like Pandora, SiriusXM, and webcasters. It pays featured artists (45%), sound recording copyright owners (50%, usually labels), and a fund for non-featured artists (5%), ensuring creators get paid for the use of their recorded music in the digital space, unlike AM/FM radio in the US.
